We always welcome new members! Come to one of our public meetings! The club meets nine times a year, on the second Wednesday of the month, at 7:00 p.m. in the Flint Memorial Library Activity Room.

The North Reading Garden Club annual dues are $35. This covers just a portion of what it costs to run the club. Also, each member receives a yearly online subscription to The Mayflower, the newsletter published by the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts. Meetings that have “hands on” workshops may have a fee for supplies. The fee is announced in advance.

As a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc., our members have the opportunity to attend lectures, workshops and garden tours throughout the state.
Our annual Holiday Party is held at a member’s home with a “Yankee Swap.” Members are asked to bring a wrapped ornament valued at $6.00.

Our members contribute to the continued growth of the club by signing up for one or more committees, such as Arbor Day, Budget and Finance, Civic Beautification, Garden Therapy, Horticulture, Hospitality, Membership, Plant Sale, Newsletter and Social Media, Silver Tea, and Sunshine.

In addition to our annual dues, members are asked to support the following fundraising events:
Silver Tea: members are asked to sell two tickets to this event, to participate with two or three other members in making a theme basket for our raffle, and providing two dozen finger desserts.
Plant Sale: Members are asked to sign up to help at the plant sale in May for an hour or more and/or to purchase plants to support the club.

If you have just moved into town and want to set down roots, or have been here for a while and desire everlasting friendships, this may be the club for you. You don’t have to be a “budding genius,” in fact, no experience is necessary! You can discover when to plant, prune, pick and pinch back plants. You’ll learn to weed ‘em and reap. As our motto says, “We Dig North Reading!” For more information on membership email Fran Brown, Membership Chairperson at: francatbrown@verizon.net
